Ypeople – Glasgow
Ypeople helps people affected by homelessness in Scotland, giving people the opportunity to experience independent living, and get the skills and confidence they need to live fully independently. Everybody embarks on a different journey through life and Ypeople reflect and adapt to people’s situation, providing ongoing support to any young person who needs it.
Ypeople provide a range of essential support, including;
- Mentoring
- Housing advice
- Supported accommodation
- Counselling
- After school care
Where Your Donation Has Gone
Money donated has been used to buy Christmas gifts for people who are supported through the charity. A sofa bed, cot and gifts for a family that have fallen on hard times and Christmas dinner for a family who are currently staying in homeless accommodation.
The People’s Kitchen Belfast
The People’s Kitchen Belfast provide over 250 meals every weekend for people experiencing homelessness or poverty within the community, as well as company and a friendly face. They offer a range of help, advice and support to people who have fallen on hard times, including;
- Benefit advice
- Homeless outreach
- Hot food
- Food parcels
- Homeless connection hub
They have also teamed up with North Belfast Advice Partnership to help end fuel poverty among elderly people, individuals, and families over the winter. Cold and damp housing contributes to additional deaths – especially amongst the older community – so the People’s Kitchen Belfast aids in ensuring that anyone who needs it, has access to heating and food.

Money donated has been used to give Christmas gifts to kids whose families are experiencing poverty or homelessness.
ASCERT – Belfast
ASCERT support people who are suffering with alcohol and substance use. They support not only the young person/young adult, but provide family support to the families who have been impacted by this. They provide services across Northern Ireland, which aim to reduce drug and alcohol related harm within the community.
ASCERT provides therapeutic support, prevention, training and psycho-education. Which they have found, that people don’t often get enough of when it comes to alcohol and substance use. They provide support including;
- Drug and alcohol intervention services for young people and families
- Training and consultancy
- Providing valuable drug and alcohol information
- Family therapy services
- Community support
Where Your Donation Has Gone
Money raised has been used to give gifts to kids whose families are supported through ASCERT, as well as home starter packs for kids and young people aged 11-24.
Elpis Centre – Glasgow
Elpis Centre provide supported accommodation for young women aged 16-25 who are homeless, care experienced and seeking asylum. Elpis Centre provide accommodation for 18 young women to promote independent living skills.
- Providing young women with a safe and secure environment – drug and alcohol free
- Helping young women develop social, life, learning and employment skills
- Supported by Housing Support Worker, preparing young women to live independently in the community
- Ongoing support after moving out of the facility
Where Your Donation Has Gone
Money raised has gone towards buying Christmas gifts for the young people who are supported through Elpis Centre, as well as home starter packs, with home essentials to help them move from supported accommodation onto more independent living.
All money raised in this years fundraising efforts has helped these amazing charities.
