Every year, our partner Gamma hosts the Gamma Ball Rally, and for us at Yellowcom, it’s an incredible opportunity for our team to embark on an unforgettable journey through some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes while supporting important charitable causes. This year’s rally saw us travel from Calais to Bordeaux in the southwest of France, raising money for Action Through Enterprise and SpecialEffect along the way.

The Journey Begins

Before the official start, on Tuesday, the Yellowcom team—made up of Jenny, Conor, and Aaron, dressed as Gru and his two Minions—set off in their trusty Mercedes. Jenny and Conor departed from Belfast, and after a short flight from Glasgow, Aaron joined them at Luton Airport. Together, they made their way across the Channel via the Eurostar, arriving in Calais ready and excited for the adventure that lay ahead.

The next three days of the rally were filled with camaraderie, challenges, and, most importantly, a shared commitment to making a difference.

Day 1: Wednesday, 11th September

The adventure began with a cheerful breakfast at Chateau de Cocove, where the team registered for the rally. After fueling up, Yellowcom embarked on their first drive to Honfleur, a charming harbor town. The Minions and Gru, dressed in their iconic outfits, took on various challenges while exploring the scenic surroundings, despite potential drizzles. The day ended with a lively drive to Caen, where the rally’s launch party took place in the cobbled streets of the historic city. It was a night of good food, drinks, and vibes at Gavroche, the perfect start to this unforgettable experience.

Day 2: Thursday, 12th September

The second day began with a picturesque drive to Saint Malo, a walled city filled with history. Team Yellowcom tested their wits by answering tricky questions and completing photo tasks, all while navigating the hills and steps of this coastal gem. After the challenge, they hit the road again, making their way to Nantes. The evening was left free for exploration, giving the Minions and Gru some well-deserved downtime to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Nantes.

Day 3: Friday, 13th September

Day three kicked off with a drive to Bordeaux for a special Gamma Olympics event at Le Five. Yellowcom went head-to-head with other teams, giving it their all in a series of fun, competitive challenges. Afterward, the team relaxed and freshened up before donning their finest summer chic outfits for the rally’s gala event. They took a scenic ride to Chateau Grattequina for a night of celebration, rounding off an exhilarating three days.
