Setting up your DrayTek router for Yellowcom business broadband is simple and secure. This guide is designed to help you get your connection live in just a few steps. Whether you’re installing a new service, replacing a router, or moving offices, everything you need is explained below.

If you’re using a DrayTek Vigor model supplied by Yellowcom, this guide will apply directly. You’ll also find a downloadable setup PDF at the end of the page.

What’s Included in the Box

Inside your Yellowcom router package, you’ll find:

  • DrayTek Router (WiFi model or standard)
  • Power Supply Unit
  • Ethernet (Cat5) Lead
  • RJ11 DSL Cable
  • 2x Antennae (for WiFi-enabled models)
  • Microfilter (if required based on your socket type)
  • WiFi access credentials (on label or printed sheet)

If anything is missing, contact our support team before you begin installation.

Step-by-Step DrayTek Setup Instructions

1. Unpack and Power On
Connect the two included antennas to the rear of the router (WiFi models only).
Plug in the power supply and switch on the power toggle located at the back of the device.

2. Connect to the Phone Line
Take the RJ11 DSL cable and connect one end to the DSL port on the back of your DrayTek router.
Connect the other end into your Openreach phone socket — this may vary depending on whether your socket is filtered or not. Use the microfilter if required.

Refer to the included illustrations in the downloadable PDF for connection variations.

3. Wait for DSL Sync
Once connected, the DSL light on the front of the router should begin blinking slowly. This indicates that the router is trying to synchronise with your broadband service.
Please allow up to 10 minutes for the router to fully establish a connection.

If the DSL light does not stabilise, check your cabling and socket configuration, or contact Yellowcom support for help.

4. Connect to the Internet
Using the supplied Cat5 Ethernet lead, connect your computer or laptop to any LAN port on the router.
Alternatively, connect to the WiFi using the SSID and password provided on the label attached to the router or inside the box.

Once connected, open your web browser and try visiting a website to confirm your broadband is live.

DrayTek Router Light Status – What to Expect

  • Power: Solid green
  • DSL: Blinking during sync, solid when connected
  • Internet: Solid green once online
  • WLAN: Blinking when wireless traffic is active
  • LAN Ports: Flashing to show connected devices

Troubleshooting Tips

No DSL light?
Double-check the DSL cable is plugged into the correct port and your phone socket is live. Use a filter if required. Try a different socket if available.

No Internet access after DSL light is solid?
The router may need your Yellowcom broadband credentials configured. Contact support if these were not pre-loaded.

WiFi not showing?
Ensure both antennas are fitted securely and the router has fully booted. Try restarting your device or using the Ethernet cable to verify the connection.

Router reset required?
Use the reset pinhole on the back of the router to restore to factory defaults. Hold for 10 seconds until lights flash.
